An integrated circuit (IC) designed to be configured post-manufacture by the end user. FPGA's can be used in low-volume vertical applications where the design savings from a programmable chip outweigh additional hardware costs. In IoT, FPGA's have the advantage of being able to bridge the interface between components such as sensors and processors.
