A word that triggers the interface on a device, typically a smart home's voice assistant, to listen for user commands or queries. For example, "Alexa" is the default wake word for Amazon devices such as the Echo. Burger King gained some notoriety in an April 2017 prank that featured a television commercial triggering Google Home devices.
