Glossary Term:
Light Fidelity

A wireless communication technology that uses visible light communication (VLC) rather than radio waves. LiFi, sometimes written as Li-Fi, may operate at speeds 100x faster than WiFi, which relies on radio waves. Because it cannot penetrate walls, LiFi has a built-in security advantage, since users have to by physically present to access the transmissions. The LED's used by LiFi can be powered by standard ethernet cables.
