A standards-based wireless technology designed specifically for low-cost, low-power wireless sensor and control networks, particularly Personal Area Networks. Based on an IEEE 802.15 standard, ZigBee operates in the 2.4 GHz band and is intended to be cheaper and simpler to implement than Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
