Short for "If This Then That," the IFTTT service and framework allows for the collection of conditional statements into "applets" that trigger actions. Applets were changed in November 2016 from "recipes." In an IoT context, for example, an applet could trigger a tweet when a temperature sensor exceeds a threshold value.
