IEEE 802.11p

Amends wireless access in vehicular environments (WAVE) to the IEEE 802.11 WiFi standard. The amendment defines a way to wirelessly exchange data without the need to establish a basic service set (BSS), since links to roadside infrastucture may be available only for a limited amount of time. 802.11p uses channels of 10 MHz bandwidth in the 5.9 GHz band.
